Ships Point residents rely on underground aquifers for their supply of fresh water. We share this resource with each other, our neighbours in the Fanny Bay area and some local industrial users. As a provicial water licensee, SPID has a responsibility to protect the water supply and to ensure SPID households have a continuous supply of clean and healthy water. Water supplies can be impacted by drought. In order to manage this risk, SPID has implemented several water saving recommendations depending on the drought level. The current water conservation level is posted on the Ships Point welcome sign at the entrance to the Point.
